APPRENTICE MOTOR MECHANIC

Belturbet Car Sales, Cavan, a Family run business with over 50 years’ experience are a certified Bodyshop, Car Service & Repair Centre and are currently looking an Apprentice Mechanic to join our team.

The successful candidate will assist in the servicing and repairing of vehicles to very high standards. As well as gaining technical competence in the mechanics of a vehicle, you will have the opportunity to continue your apprenticeship and learn from our skilled mechanics.

Applicants will ideally:

• Have a full, valid drivers licence.
• Have a keen interest in the motor industry.
• Display good problem-solving skills.
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be diligent, with a flexible approach to work.
• Be motivated and energetic.
• Ability to act on your own initiative and take responsibility for the quality of your work.
• The willingness to constantly learn and develop.
• Demonstrate good work practices including time keeping, tidiness, responsibility, quality awareness and safety awareness.
• A very good level of both written and spoken English.
• To service & repair vehicles, including computer diagnostics.
• Have basic computer knowledge.

  Responsibilities include:

• Performing / assisting with duties as outlined on the job card with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with company and industry standards.
• Assist head mechanic with the repair/s of vehicles.
• Maintaining a clean and neat workspace and adhering to all company policies, procedures and safety standards.
• Upskilling and attendance at all internal / external training as required.
