Job Overview

The Digital Editor will be responsible for overseeing the digital content strategy, ensuring the creation and publication of engaging, accurate, and timely content across our digital platforms. This role requires a dynamic individual with a keen eye for detail, strong editorial judgment, and a deep understanding of digital media trends and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive digital content strategy aligned with the company's goals and audience needs.
  • Content Creation: Oversee the creation of high-quality content, including articles, videos, podcasts, and multimedia features. Write, edit, and proofread content as needed.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of writers, editors, and content producers. Provide guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  • SEO and Analytics: Optimise content for search engines and use analytics to monitor performance. Make data-driven decisions to improve content reach and engagement.
  • Social Media: Develop and execute social media strategies to promote content, engage with the audience, and grow our social media presence.
  • Editorial Calendar: Manage the editorial calendar, ensuring timely publication of content and coordination with other departments (e.g., marketing, design).
  • Quality Control: Ensure all content meets the company’s editorial standards and is accurate, well-researched, and free of errors.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, sales, and product development, to ensure cohesive and strategic content initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital media, journalism, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or editorial role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
    Skills:
    • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
    • Excellent understanding of SEO, social media, and content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
    • Proficiency with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
