Member Service Officer/Teller Full-Time (Ref: MSO-FT)

Member Service Officer/Teller Part-Time (Ref: MSO-PT)


Lifford Credit Union is currently seeking Full-Time & Part-Time Member Service Officers/Tellers to join our team and support our members across our three offices at Lifford, Raphoe & Newtowncunningham.

 

The Member Service Officer/Teller is the welcoming, professional face of Lifford Credit Union, delivering excellent member service and attention to detail.

 

Key responsibilities


  • Handling member service transactions courteously and professionally
  • Reporting directly to the Manager, providing efficient and helpful service, including:
  • Account opening and new membership applications
  • Balancing own batch daily
  • Collecting and processing loan applications
  • Promoting credit union products and services
  • Providing cover as required in any of our three offices
  • Contributing to the achievement of credit union targets and goals
  • Addressing member queries on any credit union-related matter
  • Complying with procedures, legislation, and regulations
  • Adhering to Health and Safety regulations as directed
  • Assisting with credit control and loan queries
  • Promoting and assisting members with a range of credit union services
  • Undertaking back-office administrative duties as needed
  • Making and receiving telephone calls from members
  • Performing other reasonable duties as directed by the Manager

 

Other Responsibilities

· Participate in and assist with scheduled member events such as the Annual General Meeting, promotional and sponsorship events and Members' Open Days/ Evenings

 

· Promote credit union philosophy at all times with members

 

· Take responsibility along with all staff for training new staff members, voluntary workers and Board members, thus ensuring they become familiar with all aspects of Credit Union activities

 

· Work at all times in a courteous, friendly and professional manner, preserving confidentiality and adhering strictly to all set policies and procedures of the Credit Union.

 

 

Education, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of one years’ experience in a similar role in a credit union or retail financial services provider is desirable, but not necessary.
  • Member-focused, with a friendly and professional manner
  • Ability to perform under pressure and work independently
  • Excellent administration skills, attention to detail, with essential computer skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • QFA/APA qualification is desirable; however, training will be provided to achieve this

Credit Control Officer Part-Time (Ref: CCO-PT)


Lifford Credit Union is currently seeking a permanent part-time Credit Control Officer to join our team and support our members across our three offices at Lifford, Raphoe & Newtowncunningham.

 

Role Summary

The main responsibilities will be to work as part of the Credit Control Team. The Credit Control Officer will also contribute to the smooth operation of the Credit Union by undertaking related administrative and organisational tasks.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Credit Control Supervisor, the focus of the Credit Control Officer will be to ensure that members repay their loans and mortgages in accordance with their individual agreements. The Credit Control Officer will also contribute to the monitoring of members’ current account overdrafts, carry out a range of duties including contacting members by email, letter, phone and other means to follow up on arrears and missed payments. They will also meet with the Credit Control Committee and assist in producing reports for the Board.

• The Credit Control Officer will also help to recover funds from previously written off loans and to liaise with the Credit Union’s debt recovery solicitors and will maintain familiarity with the personal insolvency process and assist in the management of cases going through the process.

• If it becomes necessary, carry out a range of other duties in common with all MSO/Tellers to include:
