Something different is opening in Letterkenny
SONAS MEDICAL FAMILY PRACTICE is a brand-new, purpose-built GP surgery — and we are doing things differently.
We are not a private-only clinic or a hospital-style practice. This is a GP-led family practice — open to everyone.
Located in Letterkenny Retail Park, with free parking and disabled access on our doorstep, we are easily accessible to everyone in the community.
We will be the only new practice in Letterkenny welcoming both medical card and private patients.
Our doctors are fully qualified GPs, Donegal-trained. We are opening in June 2026 and are now recruiting our founding team.
The role
You will be the first voice patients hear and the first face they see. In a practice built on relationships and continuity, that matters.
Day to day you will:
- Manage appointment scheduling and incoming calls
- Register new patients — including many who have not had a GP in years
- Process prescription requests and handle patient queries
- Maintain accurate patient records on the clinical system
- Support the clinical team with a range of administrative tasks
What we’re looking for
- A warm, calm and professional manner — especially under pressure
- A compassionate nature and a genuine instinct to help — someone who finds real fulfilment in making a difference to people’s day
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Good computer skills; experience with a GP clinical system is an advantage but not essential
- Previous experience in a GP practice, pharmacy, or healthcare setting is desirable
- A clear commitment to patient confidentiality and dignity
- Someone who wants to contribute to building a service for this community, not just occupy a role
What we offer
- €16–€18 per hour, depending on experience
- 40 hours per week
- Start date: May 2026 (to allow training and onboarding before opening in June).
