Brief History of Organisation and Range of Services

Gerald Love Contracts, established in 1980 and has been operating in Ireland for over 35 years.  The Company is registered in Northern and Southern Ireland with offices in Enniskillen and Sligo.  The Company is a partnership, with Gerald Love as the Managing Partner.  We are a multidiscipline Contractor delivering civil, environmental, surfacing and marine projects.  Our Client portfolio consists of Local Authorities, Semi State, Commercial and Private Bodies.  The Company has an average turnover of 1.5 million and has maintained this despite current market conditions.

In the past five years Gerald Love Contracts have procured, managed and delivered in excess of 200 projects with a combined value of €16 million specifically in road or road related activities.  In all cases we have held the role of PSCS, for the above period and projects.  We have had no reportable accidents.  No claims have been made or sought.  We have not sought arbitration.  In no circumstances have liquidated damages been applied.

Gerald Love Contracts have a direct labour force of 18 employees.  Who are divided into civil, civil structural and surfacing crews.  On average employees have been with the company for nine years.  All are experienced Foremen, Tradesmen and Operators.

We have a proud history, where traditional skills and values are combined with professional management.  All projects are executed from the direct labour and plant resources of the Company, thus guaranteeing the Client consistent quality.  We have an open, partnering style of management and as a result we have never been involved in contractual dispute or claim abratition.

We are highly respected for meeting the needs of our clients, regardless of the project size. A combination of taking time to listen and have discussion with the client to ensure the smooth running of the project and the clients satisfaction. The company aims to keep the business as simple as possible and to drive a forward thinking ethos among employees.

We provide a broad range of services for all size of projects in Road Surfacing, Civil Engineering and General Construction.

Since the beginning our firm has always had a commitment to excellence and a dedication to getting the job done on time while providing exceptional value for our clients. The CEF is at the forefront in promoting best practice in the industry including health and safety and a pension and death benefit scheme. In co-operation with the Construction Industry Federation in the Irish Republic, the Federation was responsible for the development of Safe-T-Cert, a third party accredited health and safety management system specifically for the construction industry. Currently some 650 companies are certified through Safe-T-Cert in Northern Ireland.

Safe-T-Cert is a third party accredited health and safety scheme developed jointly by the Construction Employers Federation in Belfast and the Construction Industry Federation in Dublin. It was developed from the 18001/2 documentation but enhanced specifically for the construction industry. It is based on ‘best practice’ requirements for international and national bodies, including ILO guidelines. Safe-T-Cert is recognised under the ‘Buildsafe’ initiative in Northern Ireland and the ‘Construction Safety Partnership’ in the Republic of Ireland.

Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG)
For 47 years the Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG) has been promoting Safety in the Workplace. The NISG is run by dedicated Safety Professionals, each from varied industrial backgrounds, voluntarily giving up time to present an array of Safety events.

National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO)
The National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) is in association with NISG and like them it is led by local network volunteers and central network co-ordination; providing leading information, advisory and training services. They promote a culture of excellence in workplace health & safety whilst playing a leading role in advancing the national health & safety agenda.

ISO 9001: 2008 – Quality management system approved

 

ISO 9001:2008 specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organisation needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
